Stephen Oppenheimer, MD, PhD, is Vice President, Director of Research, and Chief Medical Officer at Sentient Medical Systems and Professor of Neurological Surgery (Adjunct) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is the founding Director of the Stroke and Neurocardiology Programs at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he held Professorial appointments in Neurology and in Medicine (Cardiology). He is an internationally recognized authority on stroke and the cerebral circulation, serves on the editorial board of several international neurological journals, and has authored a book and approximately 200 publications. He has served on or chaired peer review committees for the NIH and the American Heart Association, and joined Sentient in 2005.
