August 2007 Sentient Hero: Bruce Winand

This Month’s Sentient Hero comes to us from the Business Development ranks.  Bruce Winand is an individual in the organization that has embraced and lives the Sentient Values:

Treats others with respect regardless of rank or role in our organization or our customer’s organization- He understands that everyone has a valuable role to play in the success of our organization.

Helps others- has volunteered to mentor the new Business Development Representatives without being asked.  Proactive in sharing his experiences and findings with others to ensure we don’t have to learn the same lesson twice.

Constant Communications- Bruce is in constant communications with his clinical managers to ensure he is aware of everything that is going on is his territory.  He has formed a partnership with each clinical manager to collectively pursue growth in the Mid-Atlantic territory.

Earns trust from our clients by being there and understanding their concerns and challenges.   He also provides a darn good lunch.

Understands the Company goals- Bruce clearly demonstrated this in our joint BD-CM meetings in July.  He worked closely with Mike Burdick, Ware Baah and Alison Kelly to devise a business plan to provide the growth in his territory our investors are looking for.

Never Undermine your fellow employees-Bruce communicates open and honestly at all times.  When there is a problem he puts the issue on the table and works for a resolution without assigning blame.  Resolution and customer satisfaction are his end goal.

Resolves disagreement in good faith– Atlantic Health is a good example.  It has taken a long time to work through many complex issues to get this contract finalized by keeping good faith in the process we have resolved disagreements both internally and externally to come to contractually agreement.

Commitment to excellence- Back to his business plan that was meticulous and well thought out in every way.  This is a leadership quality to all should aspire to.

Strive to provide value- Bruce is constantly offering our clients every opportunity for education and clinical enhancement.

Celebrate Success- This is an area we look to report on soon and often.  Bruce has many irons in the fire and we look forward to them coming to us in the form of increased volumes in the Mid-Atlantic Region.  Recent Wins Include: Atlantic Health, Neurology and Headache treatment Center, Mid-Atlantic Headache treatment center and Deaconess Hospital.
